Internship objective:-

To assist in the development of the next generation SGT-A20 DLE Combustion and Fuel System

 

Internship description:-

Siemens Canada Limited, Gas & Power, is currently working on the next generation of Dry Low Emissions combustion system for the SGT-A20. The role of the intern is to assist in the development of this Combustion and Fuel System.

 

The student will work on the 3D CAD modeling for existing and design of new combustor components using Unigraphics (NX). As part of his/her internship, the student will be expected to :

 

  • Create and manage components in PLM2020 (Teamcenter – Engineering)
  • Design components and produce 2D CAD Drawings.
  • Produce CAD models for CFD and Stress analyses.
  • Based on these analyses, change the models to meet life and emissions requirements.

 

The student will be directly supervised by the lead designer, but will also have to work closely with Combustion and Mechanical Integrity specialists. Depending on project needs, the student may have to undertake extra tasks such as carrying out different analyses, defining schemes, or performing mechanical calculations for the designed parts.

The intern may have to go to the build shop and test facility to collect data and carry out analysis and will be required to wear safety shoes that comply with Siemens safety policies. It is the responsibility of the intern to have their own safety shoes.

 

Deliverables:-

 

  • Design SGT-A20 DLE MKII Combustor Components (3D CAD models)
  • Create 2D CAD Drawings (components,  assemblies and General Arrangement / Installations)
  • Create schemes and parts lists.
  • Final internship report and presentation
