Siemens Energy Canada Limited, Power & Gas, is currently redesigning gas turbine combustor components to improve their manufacturing method and to reduce their cost.

As an integral part of the Additive Manufacturing (AM) department, the intern will work under the supervision of the AM group leader within the design group and will be expected to perform the following design tasks:

• Create 3D models of components in NX .
• Draft drawing changes.
• Update models and drawings with new or modified geometries. 
• Prepare FEA/CFD models
• Review component history and recommend removal of unnecessary features.
• Print plastic prototypes
• Support design reviews.
• Carry out patent and academic reviews relevant to the re-designs.
• Support manufacture
• Support testing 
• Interact with suppliers 

Interest, knowledge and/or experience in:

• 3D Modeling skills
• GD&T Geometry Dimensioning and Tolerancing 
• Interest in FEA / CFD
