Modernize test stations used for the certification and verification of various avionic components found on commercial helicopters.

The Avionics and Systems Integration Labs is responsible for the certification and the validation of several avionic components.  One of the older test stations is made up of a VXI base platform technology consisting of a mainframe with test simulation cards. It is used to test and troubleshoot the different glass cockpit displays, data acquisition units and various other components for the 429 and 412 aircraft.  The equipment is no longer supported, and replacement parts are difficult to find.   Newer technology using a National Instruments platform exist, is more reliable and costs less to maintain, while addressing the obsolescence issue.  Other stations, also requiring modernization, are used for the verification of load cells as well as pressure gauges.

The student will work along with other software test engineers and technicians in the modernization of this automated test station.  Main responsibilities will be the programming of test stations using National Instruments Development Applications.

• 2nd year or more Undergrad Electrical (Avionics) or Software Engineering Student.
• General knowledge of avionic systems
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, take initiatives, results driven personality
• Fluent in French and English
