Using a quantum computer, it is possible to simulate combinatorial optimization problems that are relevant to many applications such as finance and resource allocation. This micro-wil will introduce students to the use of the Qiskit library to perform quantum optimization using the QAOA quantum algorithm on specific examples of the MaxCut problem and provide tools to use the QAOA algorithm to solve other types of problems that can be written in the same terms.
Introduction to the basic concepts for using Qiskit
Use of Qiskit tools for:
Must have basic knowledge of quantum programming (Python)
Be a college or university undergraduate student enrolled in a Canadian educational institution
Note: The online portion will be recorded for internal purposes only, for continuous improvement.
